Our Vision

Our vision is for the public to be inspired by archaeology and the environment, and support more people to contribute a sustainable future.

Mission Statement

The Francis and Maisie Pryor Charitable Trust is an independent organisation set up by archaeologists, environmentalists, and supporters to promote the knowledge of the public in the subjects of Archaeology and Environmental Conservation. We enable individuals, organisations, and communities – in the East Midlands and East Anglia – to advance education and participation in these subjects by awarding grants, maintenance allowances, and scholarships. We will also work in partnership with like-minded organisations to further common aims.

Our Goals:

  • To assist by funding environmental, ecological, historical or archaeological projects whether it be in whole or as additional funding of a bigger project for any organisation or individual without prejudice.
  • To offer provision for funding for archaeological research.
  • To support people who need access to further and/or higher education in the study of archaeology, environmental studies, and related subjects.
  • To support schools, public organisations or charities in the provision of facilities for learning in archaeology and environmental subjects.
  • To advance the education of the public in subjects relating to sustainable development and the protection, enhancement and rehabilitation of the environment.
  • Network with other organisations within the archaeology, education, and environmental sectors and develop relationships where we can make a difference together.
  • Increase our reserves such as encouraging public trust through legacy giving or donations for fair distribution among worthy causes via: grants and bursaries to those we fully vet.
